A leading renewable energy investor appointed Atharra to develop the contracting strategy and manage the installation tender process for two aerodynamic upgrade programmes across separate onshore wind assets. Working across different turbine platforms, we assessed delivery constraints, access methods, weather windows, and stakeholder interfaces before defining a clear, site-specific procurement approach.
As part of the tender development, Atharra also agreed blade repair scope, fixed fees, and commercial terms, ensuring the resulting contracts supported both the upgrade installations and ongoing repair and maintenance across the wider fleet. This gave the client predictable repair costs, faster mobilisation routes, and a strong commercial foundation for trial and full deployment phases.

Contracts enabling efficient repair mobilisation across the fleet
Defining procurement strategy and tendering approach for two upgrade programmes.
Atharra combined engineering insight with commercial procurement experience to develop a contracting strategy that supported both the immediate requirements of the upgrade programme and the longer-term needs of the fleet. We reviewed installation risks, site constraints and opportunities to integrate blade repairs, defining clear commercial positions on access methods, defect categorisation, warranty boundaries and cost control.
Through managing the full tender lifecycle, including scope definition, bidder briefing, evaluation and recommendation, we secured contracts with fixed blade repair rates and terms that allow rapid mobilisation and predictable commercial outcomes when defects arise. This provided the client with a durable commercial framework rather than a single-use installation contract.
